Public safety begins with trust, accountability and visible policing. This manifesto is committed to rebuilding confidence in law enforcement through higher standards, stronger anti-corruption measures, investment in policing and decisive action against knife crime. We will protect neighbourhoods, support our officers and ensure that every Londoner feels safe.
Our commitments:
Stricter vetting for Metropolitan Police Officers and bridging of the finance gap. All inside corruption to be prosecuted without exemption.
Reintegration of Royal Parks Police.
Hiring incentives for young police officers.
No police stations to be sold as part of any estate plans.
The purchase of all “dangerous” objects including combat/fighting knives to be marked with individual serial numbers. Regulations to strictly permit purchases with bank cards and matching IDs.
Banning of carrying all knives in public, concealed or otherwise, even if permitted for religious or ceremonial purposes.
